Summer & autumn
when freedom never ends
OUTDOOR LIFE
Endless summer
No matter if you like to hike or to cycle, to be carried up with a paraglider, to get a taste of culture or to enjoy Southern dolce vita at traditional festivals and in cozy towns: You will find thousands of possibilities to match every taste.
DISENGAGE AND UNWIND
Hiking
The Rueper farm is perfectly located between the southern foothills of the main Alpine ridge and the unique Dolomites. The local mountain, Plan de Corones or Kronplatz in German, is also known as a panoramic terrace and hiking paradise. We promise: You will be stunned while hiking! And also well taken care of: you can borrow backpacks and hiking poles from us – and for an extra charge you will find a hearty snack in your backpack!
AT HOME IN THE MOUNTAINS
Climbing & mountaineering
You love a good challenge? The most famous via ferrata in Valdaora is within sight. Anyway, there are countless other climbs and alpine routes in the Dolomites as well as incredible tours in our immediate surroundings. And the high alpine ascents in the Ahrn valley are legendary anyway!
OVER HILL AND DALE
MTB & biking
Get on your bikes – off you go: We have everything a cyclist’s heart desires. You may enjoy rather relaxed rides on premium valley paths in our vicinity or into the Ahrn valley or East Tyrol – or explore thrilling trails for professionals, for instance in the Kronplatz Bike Park. 1001 tours are waiting for you!
FOR CULTURE VULTURES
Land of museums
Even two museums with breathtaking architecture are located right on the summit of Plan de Corones: the MMM Corones with an exhibition by record mountaineer Reinhold Messner on the topic of alpinism and the LUMEN about the art of mountain photography. But mind: there is much more to discover, such as the folklore museum in Dietenheim or Bruneck Castle and Taufers Castle. Rest days won’t be wasted days!
IN TOUCH WITH SOUTH TYROL
Traditions & events
If you want to experience South Tyrol up as close as possible, you should not miss the traditional festivals such as cattle drives in autumn or village festivals. Our home village Olang is in particular well known for its events such as the popular “Standlschmaus”. Your host Bettina, a member of the farmers’ wives, will be happy to help and serve typical Pustertal specialities such as “Krapfen” and “Tirtlan”.
And if you would like to get an insight into farming, you are welcome to do small farm chores. Feeding the cows, raking the hay, picking berries, weeding the field… you won’t need a gym anymore!
